I decided with these memoir style books, I am not going to give them a rating as it’s not for me to decide how many stars someone’s life is worth!!

Uncomfortable labels was informative, honest, emotional but at times also lighthearted. Although it spoke about low points (usually related to a lack of respect/support) and had frustrating and heartbreaking moments there was also many positive and heartwarming things discussed. It’s a memoir at its core but it’s also very matter of fact and brimming with information. I absolutely felt like I walked away from this better informed on various topics and as a parent, it also had me reflect on my approach and highlighted some things I may want to work on.

I think this book is worthwhile reading. Whilst it’s only one persons experience, the more people we listen to, the more we can learn.

This book was pretty good and very informative, but it didn't really change my viewpoint in any meaningful way. Good for people who want to learn more about the Trans autistic experience, but does focus mostly on the dark parts.

This was really well written, the one thing that made it a little less strong for me personally was that it felt more intended for an audience of folks who don't have the experience of being trans + autistic, so the sections that were more educational and less memoir were less for me personally, but objectively very well done. That said I did have a few points of relating to her experiences that were like, oh shit wait that's an autistic thing that will be rly cool as I continue to work through my own things.
