I have never been so close to DNFing a book.
This book completely ignored the relationship between Layala and Thane that we spent two books following and falling in love with by bringing in a new love interest??? Hel was also such an unlikeable character from the beginning as well, so I don't know how the reader was supposed to see him treating Layala like crap and expecting us to want them together?
I listened to the audiobook, but the first at least 10 hours felt useless and was just a bunch of fighting and manipulation between everyone. I will admit the ending felt satisfactory in terms of the relationships and I am glad they got their issues figured out, but it felt as if the whole book was a waste of time!
I also did not enjoy the cliffhanger at all. The whole reason Hel, Val, and War fought in the past was due to the death of Vals sisters and Vals murder of another god.... and suddenly both of those gods are alive again!? So the reason the three of them fell out is now for naught?
I don't think I will finish this series anymore.

This book may have ruined the series for me. Hel is introduced way too late and that relationship is not convincing for me…not enough actual plot. May be a dnf for the series

I was a bit apprehensive when this book started, but was blown away by the ending. I am SO MAD there is a cliffhanger and I need the next book right now!! Here’s to hoping the final book gets here sooner than later!

I loved the first 2 books in this series and couldn't wait to read this one.
I was as invested in this one as the other 2. The plot of this book took a whole different turn to what had been happening in the previous books.
Thane was the perfect love interest, but then we've had Hel come in a be the 'mate' from another life. While I love a morally grey character, this felt forced and didn't fit with the story.
I'm honestly not a fan of love triangles, there's always someone you hope will be picked and it doesn't always happen.
There was some interesting plot twists and I'm excited to see where they go.
Hopefully it will wrap up in the next book.

This is one of the most underrated series I’ve read. The world building, the creativity, the character development. All of it is top notch! I know this is a series I’ll read again and again as I’m invested in all of the characters but I also know I’ve missed details my first time reading in my rush to know what’s coming next. Definitely a series to give ACOTAR competition!

This book pulled me in from the beginning (though the two previous books also definitely helped).
The author has such a way of pulling you in and shifting your emotions the same way that Layalas/Valeens shifts. Also Hel??? Love him so much. Perfect villainous love interest!!! Thane annoyed me with his “nobelness”
there were times when the magic system was a bit confusing, but I’ll let it slide
