I can honestly say I enjoyed this book immensely. If I hadn’t been in need of sleep and my iPad hadn’t lost all battery I would have read this in one sitting. I am so pleased that I got the chance to read an advanced copy. Initially the cover of the book appealed to me, it screamed sci-fi to me and the book did not disappoint.
This book had me giggling at points and has left me in need of the next two books!
Anyone who states that Picard is the best Star Trek captain is great in my esteem. Also the towel reference was a clever addition.
Definite 5 stars from me - thank you Sarah.

Starstruck is bloody brilliant! It's My So Called Life meets Doctor Who! S.E. Anderson has created comedy with a contemporary edge!

Oh man, this one was a blast to read! It was fun, refreshing, and hilarious! I loved how symbolic it was about the unpredictability of life too!

I enjoyed the story immensely. I could definitely tell the author was influenced by Doctor Who. Did I just drop the DW bomb twice? I so did! Why? Because Starstruck was just as brilliant!

Getting past the comparisons, Starstruck was a unique comedy with some unexpected twists. It was written so well that the unpredictability, and unexplainable plot occurrences (i.e. the hot air balloon), flowed seamlessly. The story was fast paced and highly engaging. It had wit and flair, and really entertaining characters.

I really loved Sally! She'd have made a perfect companion to The Doctor! She was quirky and genuine and full of sarcasm and humor!

Sally's best friend Marcy was such a loveable character. I adored her loyalty to Sally and the way she cared for her. But, I also admired her need to do her own thing and not take any shit from Sally.

Zander totally cracked me up! He was so ridiculous and serious at the same time. He embodied whimsy and charm, and I would have followed him to any planet!

And, I totally adored Blayde. She was a firecracker! I loved how alien she was and admired her pride! She was seriously kick ass!

On the surface, this was a true comedy. Digging deeper, it was also a beautiful, quirky representation of life. It had LGBTQIAA representation and touched on issues of depression, anxiety, and loss of a loved one. It was richly symbolic of how messy life can be, and how sometimes the brain just can't completely process a difficult situation.

Starstruck was a real page turner! I loved every detail, including the comical chapter titles! It had pizzazz, excitement, and amusement. It's going down as one of my top reads, and I am dying to read the next one!

I had the opportunity to read this e-book for free, in exchange for my honest review, after connecting with the author through The Book Robin Hoods site.

Starstruck is the first book in the starstruck saga. It was witty, it was unique. It was so easy to read and such a fun book!

5/5 stars

We are introduced to our main character Sally who loses her job due to her alarm clock being broken and an unfortunate air balloon accident covering her window. Things can only go up from there, right? Wrong!

Starstruck was a lot of fun. The alien species that we have been introduced to are so unique and so different from each other. We have Zander and Blayde, who are quite the devilish sibling duo who are quite entertaining. Miko and Taylor who I genuinely hope we get to see again because I loved them. I’m not going to spoil any others. Even the humans were so much fun! I loved Marcy, Matt and Sally. I was super invested in all of them and their quirks.

This book actually had me cackling at some points. Before this month I had never read and comedic sci-fi books and I’ve gotta say I may have stumbled across a new favorite genre.

I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to continue on with the series!

I absolutely loved this book! As a huge fan of the science fiction genre I was blown away, captivated, and intrigued. The characters were so fun and mysterious but at the end of the book I just kept flipping back and rereading.
I would have to say this book has everything a science-fiction fan could want in a great read. Mystery and adventure abound along with romance and what I hope *fingers crossed* is a slow burn surprise romance, just a thread running beneath all the sci-fi nonstop action. Oh and aliens, did I mention the aliens? Well, now I have. Let’s add in UFO’s, abductions, time jumps, and references to the greats: Firefly, Doctor Who, and Captain Picard winning the best Star Trek Captain award.
So grab this book, 20 or so cups of coffee, and settle in!
And don’t forget to bring along a towel (Douglas Adams would be proud to have read Starstruck) because you just never know!

Wow! This book was everything i hoped it would be! Aliens, witty remarks, UFOs, saving the world. It felt like a Doctor Who episode made into a novel.

I will definitely read the next book (and the next, and the next, etc.) I am craving more Sally and Zander.

So I finished this amazing book today, and can I say wow! I never been on the edge of my seat this much. I do not usually read science fiction books of this sort, but I decided to take the lunge and give it a go. And I am so glad that I did. It definitely makes me want to go out and buy the rest of the series.

I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I believe this book may be better for people who like quirky books and aliens. This book was not for me. I found myself unsure of what was going on the whole time, trying to decide if the book makes sense. I guess I had a thought the book would go one way, and it ended up going the opposite?

Sally is a college dropout who loses her job. But somehow she meets an alien and her whole life changes? I feel bad for all of the bad events happening to her... but then it gets better. Like infinitely better. She gets hired to work an amazing job and gets a date with her longtime crush. But still aliens... so the whole time I'm still wondering what is going on. Guess it's supposed to be funny... but I was confused.

I expected one thing and was given another. Obviously this book was not for me... I guess I hoped for a Lux type series... I did like the first in that series... but this wasn't it for me. I'm sure those who are fans of funny books with aliens will like this book... just not my jib.

I had this book in my TBR for so long that I actually forgot what it was about till I started reading.
I'm going to start by saying that this book started so great! I loved the whole running away in a different planet and all the mystery in that very first bit of the book. So I have to say that the author really captured me right there. But...
I guess I would have liked a bit of romance, it had like zero romance. Sally did have Matt but I never did feel like they were a good couple or even a couple at all. I can't really say I disliked Matt because he was just OK in my opinion but he didn't really leave an impression, he was just there in the background, you know? I really liked Zander, will there be a romance in the future? I don't know... he was just like a brother type so I was feeling like right away he was friend-zoned :-/
Also I really wanted to know what was the role of the air balloon in the beginning of the story, was it just to make her late for work? Oh and what about Dany (was that her name?), was she an Alien?
The story does have a lot going on so you won't be bored and if you like stories about Aliens then you'll definitely like this one.
I didn't love it but didn't hate it, but it was just OK for me. I will read book 2 tho, I am curious enough as to know what new adventures will Zander bring to the story.

Overall an enjoyable read. It got much better the more I read, though the typos the editor didn't catch threw me off every time I came across them. Hopefully they'll do better with catching them in the next book - which I will definitely be reading! Maybe we'll find out more about Dany or the hot air balloon in that one??
