Science is not a gender thing, so this book is good for girls to see themselves in science which has sadly been disproportionately become a “boy thing,” when most teachers in K-12 settings, science included, are women.

I love how the parents respond to Ada’s inquiries “because that’s what you do when your kid has a passion and heart that is true. They remade their world - now they’re all in the act of helping young Ada sort fiction from fact.”

This book has everything going for it- adorable pictures (check out all of the detail in the board drawings, book titles, etc), cute story, and great points about curiosity. At first the rhyming seemed a bit artificial to me, but eventually struck me as natural and clever.
