GREAT
I stopped around 50% then started again when I found out that there was a second book. I heard some mixed reviews about that one, and that made me hesitate to continue. But I did, and I'm glad I did. I liked how Alpha Roth was and how protective he was towards Kyrie. I liked how strong Kyrie's character was, and how responsibilities meant so much. Both Kyrie and Roth had interesting pasts. I liked how intense and descriptive the sex was sex, except for the use of the word boobs.
The plot was original, and unexpected. I didn't see that coming, what Roth revealed to Kyrie about their connected history.
I loved this book, but due to spoilers, I won't be reading Beta. This book can act as a standalone for the most part. I don't have any unanswered questions, and I am completely satisfied with the conclusion.

This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceOver the past few months I have seen this title available at my local library and I kept overlooking it not sure if I would like it since I tend to be picky about erotic romance especially if it has kink in it. However I decided to just grab this up especially since I was in the mood for a mouthwatering alpha male and boy I was pleasantly surprised. Now I know that this book is not for everyone, and after seeing some mixed reviews on it before reading it is what made me hesitate on reading it for so long however I am thrilled that I took a chance on this one. It was delicious, hot as sin and romantically poignant at times. I love the sweet and tender moments that happen between Roth and Kyrie. The sex scenes are spicy and hot and so wonderfully done. The beginning of the story is more of a build up of sorts....building trust and communication. They slowly learn each other, and I was impressed with the way their relationship grows. Its not what you expect and I like a story that isn't predictable. Had a fun time with Alpha and can't wait for Beta and continue this pair's story.

This book has such an amazing premise, but it kind of falls flat. I wasn’t expecting it to be basically 50 Shades of Grey, but it really was. That said -- the writing was a lot better than the EL James book (I only read the first), and the plot made more sense than that one. I still wished that we’d gotten a bit better characterization. It doesn’t make sense how they fall in love, because not much is going on. I need a three-dimensional heroine to relate to, but we don’t get into her head enough for me to understand her. She’s clearly money motivated, because she needs to support her sick mother and her brother, yet she’s studying to be a social worker. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, BUT I would have liked for some reason why she is so driven to be a social worker, when clearly money is her main focus. What happened in her past to make her want to help others in this way? Being a social worker is incredibly emotionally taxing and you don’t make that much money. Honestly, her career is of so little importance to the book, that she should have been doing her MBA. These degrees are incredibly expensive, but with a long-term return, and it would have supported her character backstory as being a “supporter” for her family. It also would explain why the heck she just gives up her dreams the second a rich man shows up to sweep her off her feet. A person with a calling to be a social worker would not do that. #EndOfRant
There’s a twist at the end that’s quite shocking (the obligatory scene that “breaks up” the couple), but we literally get no time with them apart before she forgives him for a, in my opinion, quite heinous act, with very little apology on his end.
All this said, the sexy stuff is really quite sexy in this book. Even if that’s all there really is to this story. 3 stars.

WOWZA! Totally loved this book. It was suspenseful, romantic, sexy and hot. I'm craving a sequel ASAP. Please? My thoughts right now are as followed: I do wish there was more of the plot line. If I read books such as these, I do enjoy a great plot line with all the sexiness in it. Which this book did lack to a certain extent. I think a sequel would really wrap up everything else I need in my mind.
You have won me over Jasinda Wilder. Please give me more!
