I thought this was so chilling! It was a quick read but certainly not for everyone. I like how the author uses very intentional symbolism (hint: pay attention to the color yellow). This is the second book by Paul Tremblay I’ve read, and I think I liked A Head Full of Ghosts more. There is some weird POVs in this book, but they were mostly successful and clear although I did get confused at some points. Over all, if you like horror and don’t have any upcoming glamping plans, The Cabin at the End of the World is worth a read!

A rare example of me seeing the movie adaptation before reading the book, despite being a fan of Tremblays mind.
I did really enjoy this, the premise is excellent, and characters complex enough to make it that extra bit believable. You can't help but wonder how you might respond in such an impossible scenario.

I will say however, that I didn't care for the narrator of this one. Her tone was a little grating and the voices for male dialogue almost comical. If you're intrigued to check this one out, go for the physical book.

Immediate thoughts:
This all felt like an extremely pointless fever dream that was tragic, and I feel like the point flew over my head. I don’t understand why people recommend this book. I don’t understand why or how people like this book.

Later:
After watching some reviews I feel like an understand it a little better and appreciate it more. I kind of get it now but I would not re-read I don’t think.
