I liked this book better than the second in the series but not quite as much as The Kiss Quotient. I liked the series, it really gave me insight into those on the autism spectrum - their similarities, differences and sometimes reasons why they don't speak up for them selves.

100/5 stars. This book has a romance subplot and a happily ever after, but it more of a fiction read in my opinion. Reading this book was affirming in more ways than I could’ve ever imagined. It helped me see so much of what’s happened in my own life over the past few years. In watching Anna take care of herself and return to her passions, I feel like I can daydream about the future again. It’s feels like taking a good, deep breath. I’ll never love another book quite like I love this one.

This book wrung my heart, not for the romance but the mental illness struggles of the main character.

Reading the Author's note clicked everything into place.

May we all have a Quan when we need them ♥️

The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang aka a cute cover masking a knife to the heart aka the crushing mental load of late diagnosed autism and extreme burnout aka sky high family expectations aka the second book I have read this month featuring a online violin sensation aka home of one of the best book boyfriends aka Helen pouring her heart and soul out on the page for all of us to see in its messy glory and then putting it back together again in some amazing way.

This is a romance in that it has a love story and a happy ending for the couple BUT it is extremely heavy and quite sad. I have never felt angrier on behalf of a heroine, and mainly because of her family and not romantic interests (although Julian really pissed me off, too).

You should read this, but be ready, it deals with terminal illness and caregiver burnout in an extremely detailed and heavy way. Please check the CW. But if you can make the space? Do it.

Also? QUAN!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

👍🏻 Recommended. It’s heartbreakingly beautiful.

I loved this book! Maybe not as much as the first 2 but this one was more heartbreaking
