Enjoyed the story more than I expected to. The setting is dark and with Gothic romance vibes. The change and growth the fmc goes through is raw and relatable. The deaths are necessary and give an indepth understanding to how the characters think and feel. The ending could have been stronger but overall still satisfying. I enjoyed that it was a stand alone instead of a series. The audio Playlist with the book is rather good and I recommend having it play as your reading for light background noise.

I’ve seen some mixed reviews about this one, but personally, I loved it. I’m a sucker for a dark academia and secret society setting.

I actually prefer this over Gothikana. Mainly because of the progress of the romantic relationship. It was much slower here, which made it so much richer in tension. My main complaints with Gothikana was how there was almost zero buildup to the relationship, they got together too soon. This was much more satisfying. There was less spice, but the tension was SO good.

I also enjoyed Salem as a main character. She felt different from other FMCs and I loved her clinical and icy persona. Her mind was so interesting and I found her really funny on several occasions.
