A paranormal, polyamory/RH urban fantasy with gargoyles. The plot was predictable, the chemistry was awful, and the pacing was poor. I do not plan on continuing this series.

A fascinating new series.

I went into this book blind, no blurbs or anything, so I was pleasantly surprised by the story line.
The gargoyles were new to me as love interests. I enjoyed my introduction to them and look forward to learning more about them.
I felt like it took a little while to warm up to the book, (just the first few chapters), and really get into the storyline, but once I did I really hated easter eggs since I had to put off reading this arc to hide, hide and hide.
I fell for all the guys, especially deep, dark and broody Jac and hope to learn more about them in the books to come.
Ace had led and interesting life and I am hoping we get to delve deeper into it that in the next ones as well. I feel like a little more back story would really add more life to her and really bring more readers to the party.
I am a Jasmine fan and read everything she rights so this one was always a must read for me.
I love the Rh genre and really hope the scenes get a little deeper and the feels more intense the more they continue to fall for each other. I felt it was more about her than just getting laid!
Thanks to Jasmine and Emma for a great introduction to this series and look forward to it continuing.

I received an Arc of this book and have gladly given it the review it deserves ❤

Meh. That’s how I felt this book was.

It was meh because everything about it was meh. From the dialogue which was more surface level and bland. To this woman supposedly a cop yet is quite stupid for one.
SpoilerAt the end, you can smell sulfur, see someone doing inhuman things and have great speed and agility but still think, “Nah, definitely human. No vampires here!” Umm, excuse me? What kind of cop just goes out in the middle of the woods, while hard to see, leaving the shelter of a house? No.

I wish this story was better. It was more of a one track story with not a lot of detail and everything was very surface level. I wanted the characters to connect but the only thing they can manage is breaking their own morals for some woman, who isn’t all that interesting, and sleep with her.

So, yeah. Meh.

It was ok, way too many cultural references, some inconsistencies. I do not think I will read the next one. Could have been better.

Okay, I have a confession. Gargoyles petrify me. Yes, I know this is an irrational fear but I can deal. This book (and series) had me shivering in a good way, which was weird because I usually run screaming in the opposite direction of gargoyles. No matter what. So yeah this was good and now when I look at gargoyles (for the fraction of a second I allow myself before I understand what I'm seeing)
Spoiler I'm going to hope they become sexy protectors at night. I wouldn't say no to a sexy protector even if they were a giant hunk of stone that could crush me to death.
