While parts of it haven’t aged super well in the last 20 (!) years, OHSHC was really ahead of its time 💕 so far not loving the manga as much as I did the anime, but excited to keep reading!
Moderate: Transphobia, Homophobia, and Classism
Minor: Death of parent and Bullying

I actually discovered the anime first and was well like many others screaming that it was never finished..... So naturally I start reading the manga. I couldn't be happier; the characters are all their chaotic selves, the story is a lovely break from reality, and will be adding this series to my comfort reads list.
Moderate: Misogyny and Classism
Minor: Death of parent, Bullying, and Incest

Ouran was a childhood staple anime for me, so I was eager to see how the manga compared. After just one volume, I do feel like the anime is better. Even just covering the first few chapters, it expanded on the characters and their dynamics a lot more than the manga had time to. Details like how the club members first discovered Haruhi's gender were rewritten with so much more dedicated time, scenes, and dialogue in the anime compared to just having a 3-4 panel reveal in the manga. I still had a fun time reading this, especially getting to see the gorgeous shojo-style illustrations full of shiny eyes and roses, as well as seeing Haruhi's personality come through and her positive impact on everyone around her.
Moderate: Classism
Minor: Death of parent and Violence
