This was painful to look at but so random it’s funny.

Half of this was me being confused because the story telling is not that great.

The other half was me cringing at this art style. I typically don’t like this era’s art style and this is an example of everything I don’t like. Literally everything about this art I don’t really like. I can tell the author spent a lot of time on it though and I enjoy the story, so I’m suffering through it.

I’m glad I read this. Everywhere I searched for shojo manga recommendations, I found OHSHC. It reminds me of Maid-Sama, to a point.

I LOVE THIS SERIES! It's so cute. I watched the show and was disappointed to see only 26 episodes, so I just had to start the manga and I have to say, it is really good.

It was fine. The art wasn't my favorite, but I've already looked at vol 2, and it does improve. I don't much care for the inserts from the author about writing it - took me a while to understand it. To be fair, I've not really read any manga before, so I'm not sure how common such a thing is.

It generally felt unpolished mainly because the author points out their own mistakes like how one character is said to be older in the course of events, but then it changes or in the second volume that two characters would have graduated, but they're just going to ignore that because. It's just odd. I'm not sure what to think about that.

I am reading this because I enjoyed the anime, and overall, I think it is better told in anime than manga. It's easier to get a grasp of the tone and humor visually and audibly than through reading. Then again, I'm not accustomed to this format (reading backwards took a minute to get used to).

Overall I'll continue with it. At least until the point the anime left off as I'm curious and these don't take long to read (and are free through my library.)

2020 reread. I don't know... I still love this series, but something changed for me. I am just not a big fan of Haruhi in this one. She has some stuff that are just grating on me, probably also thanks to getting exposed to Twitter. And come on, the twins licked you on your fricking face and you are being pissed at Tamaki? Girl, please. No.
Tamaki also annoys me greatly, then again, he already did but I feel it was worse this time round. I still loved the others in the host club, and I find it hilarious that money is just thrown around like it is nothing. Really, these kids have fabulous parties, endless costume changes, and more. At times I wonder if they even study sometime or if they just keep on going. I had a laugh at the dynamics in the group and how it shifted with the addition of Haruhi.
Not sure if I will continue, don't want to be frustrated with this series, I want to remember it as that I loved it.

Re-read, might re-read the whole series again. :)

I decided to re-read this series since it has been quite a long time since I last read this series. And I really loved it back when I read it. :)

I still love it, however I notice that I still know quite a few scenes/what happens even after 7/8 years.

Haruhi, Tamaki and all the others are still wonderful and I was really happy to see them again. My favourite character is still Haruhi though, she is a wonderful girl (and so often mistaken for a boy) and she knows how to keep Tamaki in check (which in turn gives hilarious situations).
Though I already know who she is going to end up with, I will still cheer for her and that person throughout the manga.

Tamaki, he is and was still the one character that I at times just wanted to strangle. Saying Haruhi is his daughter is fun a few times, but just gets annoying after a while. I know there is a more serious Tamaki hidden beneath all those jokes/jester/idiocy and I just wish we could see that one more.

The other guys are just like it was before, swoon-worthy and great and I love seeing them in their various outfits.

Well I would recommend this manga to anyone seeking a nice shoujo/comedy/school/romance manga. It spans 18 volumes, but you will enjoy them all. Believe me.

I won't be writing a review for every manga volume. I probably will only write another review for the last volume.
