I love Haruhi and Tamaki, but is the anime series better… sorta. Like I’m gonna read the next issues but we’ll see how much I like them compared to my middle school self’s favorite series 😅🌝
While there's a slight chance that I will continue reading this series (I'm looking for a new one as I type this), I would just like to note that I finished both the anime and the J-drama in a single day (maybe this is why I don't feel like reading the manga anymore , so that strongly signifies that I really liked this, hence the 4 stars.

This is hard for me to review because the anime is so iconic! This volume basically follows the first few episodes of the anime (or should I say, the first few episodes of the anime follow this volume). There are small vignettes about the goings-on of the host club and how Haruhi got involved with the host club. It's fun and wacky. Haruhi is a shoujo icon! Nonbinary legend!

i watched the anime for this when i was like 12, so not only had i forgotten everything but i also forgot just how funny it is. the characters are all specific archetypes commonly found in shoujo manga but they happen to be self aware of this and often make fun of it. i didn't realize how satirical and self-aware the manga is, and i ended up enjoying it way more than i thought i would.
