A parody of shojo manga? Sign me up! This is a fun, fluffy read perfect for someone who loves shojo manga but is getting a bit sick of the cliches. It's not over-the-top slapstick (which can be exhausting) and not too silly. There's a little of depth hinted at with some characters so I'm going to check out a few more volumes to see where it goes.
I can’t remember the last time I read a manga. Isn’t that sad? It was probably in high school at some point. So at least 5 years ago.
Anyway—this was an immediate 5 stars! I love the art, the characters, the plot, and the comedy elements. It was so self aware and I LOVED that. I’ve seen the entire season of the Ouran High School Host Club anime, so the first few volumes will just be the same as those episodes I’m guessing. I’m super excited to get into the later volumes of the manga because I know the anime stopped before the story was truly finished. I’m soooo ready to finally know how everything ends up! I still have quite a few volumes to read before I get there though… hah.
The thing I loved about this was how light and fun it was. Was there drama? Yes. But it’s never malicious. This is a perfect read for when you want to be happy. So why not read it? ;)
