Do I recommend this book: 👍

♥️ love triangle
♥️ forced proximity
♥️ historical mystery

If you’re after a lighthearted, slightly spicy read this book may be for you.   This story follows Abby, an American heading to London in part to escape her overprotective father.

Whilst I didn’t love the love triangle and the indecisiveness of the FMC, I enjoyed the friendships woven throughout the story along with the historical mystery.

Narration: Unfortunately the Australian accent started out ok but morphed into terrible.
The English accents were decent.  Props to the narrator for giving it a go.

Can’t say I enjoyed this book at all, I almost didn’t finish it if I’m honest because the start was so slow and meh

when abbey bly (often called 'abbs' lmfao) gets the chance to study abroad in london and escape her overprotective 'rock star' dad she takes it ... only to realise her roommates are guys. HOT guys (*clutches pearls*) but she also can't date them, so it's a forbidden love. to top it off, there's another guy she's fallen head over heels in insta lust with: a british musician who's already taken AND she's also gone and gotten herself tangled in a scandal of a family from aristocracy.

you know, like every other tourist.

the positives: it was fast-paced, easy to read, and there was drama

I was really wanting to give this higher because the last quarter of the book had redeemed it to a certain extent but I can’t get over just how boring I found most of the first part.

Abbey goes to London for a year to find herself and ends up in a love triangle whilst exploring the “Tulley” family. She ends up embroiled in finding out more about this family and their secret whilst also being caught up in her own drama.

I just found it all very surface level and the characters didn’t have much depth to them.

I’ve loved other books by Elle Kennedy, her hockey series are all fab! I just didn’t love this one.

it’s giving college-aged new girl plus money and fame… first romance book in a hot second, side plot mystery really helped!! I would have given it 4 stars if it didn’t become repetitive in the last 100 pages, well not repetitive more like “this again?” and “no not again.” side characters fun :)
