I loved some parts of this, especially Leopold as a narrator made me chuckle a lot. But still I couldn’t really bring myself to get through this book, maybe I didn’t give it the level of concentration and attention it deserved as I confused a lot of the characters and details and that made it harder to follow.

Much like the poor old heart of Leopold Gursky, suffering at the hands of time, mine has been wearied by this story. 'The History of Love' woke me up from my month long reading slumber, for which I'll be forever grateful but I'll also remember it as the book that gave me goosebumps at 5 o' clock in the morning.
Most beautiful things are heart-breaking.

It's as if Jonathan Safran Foer wrote another book under the pen name Nicole Krauss. Which is not a bad thing. I get why they like each other. Great read.

I tried to stay hard-nosed and skeptical about this book. One of those books where the characters are too endearing and I know the author is trying to make me cry. But I can't help it -- I loved it. I loved everything the book says about writing and love and loss.
