Such a sweet book. I'm so glad Chase finally got some confidence. His daughter was too adorable. Loved watching him and hunter fall in love.

Merged review:

I thought this one was sweet and really loved Chase and Hunter together. Lyla was a sweetheart. I also loved Trooper.

Absolutely loved it!

There is nothing better than a homophobic hobbit being put in their place! I love stories of those who’ve always been told they are nothing only to have the right one come along and show them otherwise.

This is the second book of the collection Men of Hidden Creek I read, and although the stories are standalone stories, I would recommend to read this story after reading Score by A. E. Wasp because Hunter is a Marine buddy of Score’s Connor, there is a intersecting moment between the two stories involving the two of them and the storyline linked to the common villain character in Connor’s and Chases’s family life finds its conclusion in Storm.

Storm is a well written story with very likeable characters. I loved little Lyla and three legged puppy Tropper. Hunter is the typical all American hero, former Navy and Marine doc, suffering light PTSD, but much more balanced and emotionally strong compared to Chase. I was a little bit surprised about the rather smooth acceptance by Hunter of his newly discovered homosexuality, but this was just another sign of his very strong self acceptance compared to the constant insecurities shown by Chase.

I have taken notes of some side characters appearing or mentioned throughout the book, who may be linked to the other books of the collection. Reading these books is like going on a treasure hunt, trying to pick up connections between the characters, just like you would do if living in a small town like Hidden Creek. And this is surely due to the great writing and cooperation work of the authors. Now I’ll read Shield by Max Hawthorn, just because Fox and Axel are mentioned in the Epilogue of Storm.

Too much cute

This is the third book I’ve read in the Men of Hidden Creek. So far they have been great, Storm is no different. Lyla is adorable, I can even picture her with her curls.

Chase ended up getting a girl pregnant in high school when he tried to pretend he wasn't gay. He saw Lyla, his daughter, a few times over the year, but he never had custody. Five years later, his daughter's mother passes away, and Chase is a full time father. Chase struggles with self esteem issues, and he is very fearful about how being gay will affect his life.

Hunter is new to Hidden Creek, and meets Chase and Lyla. He is charmed by Chase's shyness, and they become friends. Hunter has never really thought that he was gay, but he wasn't about to ignore the feelings he had for Chase. There was a little bit of challenge thrown in their way with a homophobic social worker, but the way Hunter stood by Chase's side and the way they stood up to him was great.

I absolutely loved Hunter, my heart felt so much sorrow and pride for Chase, and Lyla and Trooper
were utterly adorable. They were such a great family. I really enjoyed this book. This is the third book I have read so far in this series, and they have all been fabulous. They have definitely exceeded my expectations.

I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC I received from LesCourt Author Services

Cute story

Nice story of family and friends. A bit slow moving for a while but the latter part moves nicely and inspires some strong emotions. Is it bad that I really wanted to see some major comeuppance for a bratty little first grade girl and was very disappointed I didn’t get my wish?! A rather anti-climatic end for the other villain of the story as well.
