Ok it won a Pulitzer but I was so bored?? There were a few nice passages but ultimately I couldn’t wait for it to be over and I didn’t connect with Arthur Less at all. Unimportantly, I also hated the cover.

DNF at 32%. I do NOT understand the hype behind this book. It was extremely choppy and written in a format that, while trying to be deep and thoughtful, just comes off as slow and pretentious.
Arthur Less seems like a nice enough man, and I'm sure his adventures across the globe all to avoid the wedding of an ex-lover are full of crazy shenanigans, however, I will never know. There are too many books on my TBR list that are more worthy of my time than trying to continue sludging though one I don't enjoy. Sorry.

I quite enjoyed this book. Part of it was that it's genuinely funny and quite touching, but the other part is that I had the pleasure of listening to this on audiobook and the narrator was absolutely fantastic. He has such a gift for accents (of which there are quite a few in this book) and voiced each and every character perfectly. If you are an audiobook person, I highly recommend picking this one up.

I was about to give three but then felt that the book is not what I really thought of it in the beginning... Definitely not similar to the books I usually love to read. this one felt somehow far from being relatable to me, one sec too mature and then too stupid.
when I started reading I thought that Arthur Less has one of the most messed up lives I have ever read about! I saw him from the beginning, not as a failed author rather as a careless clumsy boy who is not able to determine his life goal and what he really wants from life! I really couldn't stand his character in the first half of the book, I found it hard to relate to him or even feel a bit of empathy toward him.
I may be wrong but he clearly wasn't taking his life seriously.
In the 2nd half, I started to enjoy the book more, to be honest, it was because the author has a humorous side and had a greater way of telling some parts.
In the end, what I was not so sure about was what did the author really want from me to know or understand! I got the whole idea of the book but for me I found myself thinking all over again: what was I supposed to learn other than the life Less had led till now!

I started off kind of bored with the plot, and somewhat frustrated with the narration of the story, however, I continued on. By the middle, I found my stride, and also came to somewhat like Arthur Less.
Its definitely not my favourite book, but it has charm, and I can understand the appeal. I'm glad I stuck with it.

Halfway through and I’m giving up. I couldn’t care less about Less.
