This was a real page turner, for sure. I couldn't put it down! My only complaint was the hideously predictable (slightly smutty) ending, but hey, thats why we read romance books right? Loved it.

ive been lowkey stressed out sm like it's keeping me distracted from reading bc it's constantly on my mind but anyways i finished a shirtless guy book yup bc all the books ive started were so ugh yk and i knew i liked reading books by this author so i'm just binging this 15 book series lol. anyways it wasn't like her other books i read recently it was more plot focused and not as witty and shit which i was kinda sad about but i liked the story it was good the plot twist was obvy tho but the characters are really enjoyable and i'm invested in them now to finish this series. it gave off like 2010 book vibes LMAO idk how to describe it but it was good enough that i finished it in my book slump. but i did cry at the ending of it like i knew it was gonna end happy but something happened before and i cried like a lil bitch but i'm excited for the second book bc the character for it seems funnier so it's probably gonna be more like her recent books hopefully, rating a 8/10 standard fantasy kind of wattpad vibe book. but i was listening to first love / late spring on repeat to this book be i was feeling depressed so now it's associated w this book now lol

** spoilers at the bottom!!** Holy Hell! What an amazing story! Perfect blend of mystery and spice. I really enjoy the unique concept involving Pandora and her Box. I read Reyes story randomly as a teen and have always wanted to read them from start to finish. Now that I’m an adult- I have the capability of having a home library!! So, luckily… I BOUGHT THEM ALL! Which is GOOD- because I DEVOURED this one! Only reason it took 6 days was because I had VERY little time to read each day. I’ve been sacrificing sleep to read! Onto the next one, The Darkest Kiss. **SPOILERS BELOW!**

Y’all… pages 360-364 had me BAWLING while he was begging!! When he was convincing her she’d be fine, they’d patch her up.. as he lay, tied to a bed and watched her be stabbed 6x with a sword.. all while he begged… ugh, it got me

4 stars.

This is the second novel by GS that I've read and I'm getting used to her style of writing. It's still not my favorite but it definitely is less bothersome for me.

The Darkest Night is a great introduction into this world, we get to meet a lot of the future characters & couples.

Maddox and Ashlyn were wonderful together. Maddox has a/the demon of Violence inside and he craves violent acts. I was a little nervous at how that would come out in his relationship with Ashlyn but I was pleasantly surprised and happy that the Violence spirit/demon was used in protection of Ashlyn.

Ashlyn Darrow is a paranormal investigation person and she has abilities, being able to hear conversations that have long since happened, and she helps this investigation team find supernatural beings. At first I was a little annoyed with Ashlyn for the simple reason that she went out in the forest in search of the temple where the Lords are living in hopes of getting her gift under control but she goes unprepared for the conditions of that forest. Her clothes aren't warm enough, she doesn't have food or water, she doesn't have a shelter, she's just being an idiot in the beginning. Thankfully she does get better, she proves to me that she can handle Maddox and his demon, I really liked that she was equally as protective of Maddox as he was of her. I loved when Ashlyn
Spoilersnuck into Maddox room after his midnight scheduled death and just held his hand telling him that she'd be there and she wouldn't leave. That was an amazingly sweet moment.

This was a good opening novel to the series and I look forward to reading more of this series.

I really enjoyed this - my friend recommended the series to me after hearing that I was a Sherrilyn Kenyon fan. There are definitely similarities in the series, but both are very good on their own merits. They definitely write some damn hot stories with great characters and interesting plots. I'm so glad I was pointed me in the direction of this author, and I'll definitely be reading more.

I remember not loving the first book but liking the rest of the series. However, this book is so bad I can't even finish rereading it. The H is so cringy, and the plot is so boring.

Previously rated 4 stars

Plot:
- h can hear whispers of everything said in a spot
- she stumbles upon H and his friends who are half demon (released from Pandora's box)
- H can't stay away but she is probably bait
- she's a virgin so she can't be right?

More of a 4.5 than a 4.
Quite an interesting book.It will definitely make you continue with the series.

I reread this one and couldn’t get behind either of the main characters or their insta-love relationship. Maddox constantly makes empty death threats at the other Lords to essentially not look at Ashlyn - this is their primary dialogue and connection. In fact he makes threats and demands and has random violent urges which the author romanticizes as devotion, based in love or neutral because they’re his nature. Ashlyn is emotionally immature and her lame actions and thoughts kept me from rooting for her.
