Ahhhh.. I loved The Darkest Night. Can’t wait to read the next book.

This was a smutty and addictive book. The writing isn't amazing but I could not stop reading it. I really enjoyed it for what it was and I'll probably continue on with the series.

I happened to really enjoy this book. It was like an adult twist to a fairy tale. I've read few other books dealing with immortal warriors and "gods" and unfortunatly they are all basically the same. This one is the same as the others, however the fairy tale idea and the rouge god was a beautiful twist. It gave the story a much needed uniqueness to it and pulled me as the reader in more. I found that i was more willing to ingest the story as it derailed from the common immortal gods etc stories. It was very romantic and sweet and I thought Maddox was simply delicious as i tend to think most story heros are. I liked that Ashlyn was her own small fragile heroin as well. <3 it was a god book i look forward to purchasing the next book.

“Now I live, even in my death.”

This book. THIS BOOK. Greek mythology, cursed warriors, the deadly sins and soul mates. What more could a girl ask for in life? Sometimes you just need some ridiculous, over the top PNR to take your mind off the real world.

And this book hit the spot. Reading this book was an unusual experience—part of myself was floating above and watching on in shock as I enjoyed this. The other half? It gave zero flying fucks.

Maddox was a immortal greek warrior who had been cursed to share his body with the demon Violence, forever unable to have complete control over his emotions or actions. He had lived centuries in turmoil with only the company of his warrior brothers, all cursed with a different demon as punishment for their past actions.

When Maddox stumbles across an innocent human stuck in the cross hairs of an ancient old war between the demon warriors and their hunters, he feels a pull towards her like nothing else.

Ashlyn Darrow had been tormented by her ability to hear every conversation that had ever taken place, just by standing where they had been spoken. She had been labelled a freak and never had a moment of peace, so she decides to search out the mysterious men who live at the top of the hill, hoping they can help.

Well, what can I say about the book? Only that I definitely wasn't expecting any of it! The demons, the warrior, the hunters... What fascinated me the most was the "gifts" each warrior had and how effected them. The couple was good. Ashlyn and Maddox filled my hunger for romance, but I became more intrigued about Lucien and Anya. Also, Paris is my favorite character. I don't know much about him, but I definitely need to :D
The plot was not complicated and the prison thing was really disapointing. But, much like what happened on the other book by Gena Showalter I read(Heart of the Dragon) we see that she will develop the plot further in further books.
To the next book I go!
