I loved this book! The beginning is a little dense but I loved how the plot unfolded. For the first half of the book, the plot takes a backseat to character development. Literary writing, a murderer on the loose and a touch of dark academia? Yes please and can I have some more?

Great plot. Writing style relies on info dump which can take away from the characters, but the info dump teaches you a lot about maps.

I want to like this book more than I do. It’s got the opportunity to be like shadow of the wind or female Dan brown thriller , but I’m rather confused when I finished it. Like why? But why?

I put together William was Wally early on- it was rather apparent but I don’t get his why? Like he was possessive over Tam and then expected over the town when he couldn’t have her all to himself?! That was the weak link if another engaging story but left with a meh feeling. Also- “junk box” was over used I get it’s central purpose but control f and replace with something else sometimes.
