Audiobook. Ugh. Not at all what I was hoping for.
This book felt all over the place to me and took WAY too long to get where it was going. Far too many side quests so to speak.
The characters were poorly developed which made me not really like any of them, even the ones who were supposed to be sympathetic. It sort of felt like the author didn’t really like any of the characters either really.

When I first heard about this book, I was told it was mostly on motherhood. This is definitely a part of the book, but really only so in the last 8th of it. I wasn’t sure why I was reading this or who I should care about. Many of the characters felt too idealistic to be believable. It maybe if I had gone into this book with less expectations I would have enjoyed it more.

A novel about what it means to be a mother. And, at times, to be mothered. I sometimes struggled with the changes in perspective throughout the book. Maybe it was harder with an audiobook? I felt like one of the subplots just abruptly disappeared.

A really nice, light read. Enough character and relationship evolution throughout the book, it feels thought out (except maybe for Chet? What was he there for ?). The beginning feels slower but it does get better. Just enough romance. Some themes feel like they are discussed very rapidly but it contributes to making this a light read. This book feels like it could be a tv series.
