This book was hyped way too much. Characters were mostly miserable. Slow paced. Nothing really sucked me in. I was only able to finish because I listened to the audio. Would have absolutely DNF’d the physical copy.

I enjoyed this book, but it felt a bit "scattered" to me. Too many side characters and side plots (most of which didn't feel "necessary"), and I didn't like the abrupt changes in perspective from one character to another. I would have preferred a more linear story told entirely from Pen's perspective.
