I read this as it was a Read With Jenna pick. I am not sure I would pick it up without that reason. The title is odd. The story is about female friendship, motherhood, love, and a bit of mystery. A young girl Pen is attending University of Edinburgh. Her parents are divorced and she knows they are hiding something about their past. She goes to school in Scotland to follow in her dad's foot steps. She meets a mystery author who was best friends with her dad. She falls in love with their family and one of the sons. It is also the story of Alice, Pen's best friend from childhood who also attends the same school. It is her journey in theater and falling for a guy she shouldn't have. Overall it is a great book. The prose is flowery. I did not like the last two pages.

I don't really know how to review this book. it had a lot of good qualities, but overall I think it just wasn't for me. I wish the setting had been more of a character and I had a hard time caring about the actual characters.
