Wow!  Great book!  I found myself like this more than a few times 😱 and other times like this 🫣.  I did forsee something not right about Sunnt.  Sometimes, Nola's defensiveness about being independent is a little juvenile.  I love Jolene but she points out Nola's flaws in public a little too much. Other than that, very exciting and interesting book!

Eek! The Royal Street series is AMAZING. I was thrilled to see some old friends from Tradd Street. So, so good !

Nola's not afraid of ghosts. Her stepmom can see dead people—so Nola's learned to live with restless spirits. She and friend Beau have just embarked on a career flipping haunted houses when his long-lost sister Sunny reappears. But how did Sunny end up with the couple who adopted her? Will the quest to discover long-dead secrets lead a hidden evil to rise again?

I've enjoyed Karen White's Tradd Street series, so I'm excited about this spin-off series. You don't have to read the Tradd Street novels to follow along with the Royal Street novels. You might enjoy this book more, though, if you read the first book in the Royal Street series.

Nola is energetic, smart, and fun. Beau is a bit of an enigma, and it's not clear yet where their relationship is headed. This book focuses on what happened after Sunny's kidnapping. It's a twisty, spooky story that kept me guessing until the end.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
