Surprised this book has a 4.2 rating. I struggled with the writing style and some of the conversations and characters seemed so young adult-ish. I didn’t realize until part way through that this is the second book in a series. For the most part the story was still understandable without having read the first book. It had a lot of potential but was disappointing

Wow, I never thought this would happen as Harlan is one of my favourite authors. Normally once I pick it up I have a hard time putting it down. This is my least favourite book he has written. It took me a long time to read it and I ended up scanning through the last 1/4 of the book. I was bored.

This book was a convoluted mess. There is so much going on that it was hard to keep track, and by the end I didn't care to. I listened to the audiobook which is narrated by Steven Weber. He has an incredible voice but I couldn't differentiate between the male characters. They all sounded the same and this added to the confusing plot.

Wilde has returned from Costa Rica and is searching for his family after getting a DNA match. However, this discovery leads to other matches and mysteries. Crossing into reality TV and social media personalities, Wilde discovers that some people will do anything for fame.
As usual, a solid mystery from Coben.
