Started out strong, but became a repetitive cycle of will they-won't they, and trying to figure out the mystery. Slow burn.

I really liked this! It's not exactly what I expected but it was cute.
Victor became the alpha of his small pack after his dad was led astray by a rogue mage, and has since developed a strong wariness of everything magic. Elijah just finished his mage apprenticeship, and his 5 year plan start by taking charge of the tiny rural magic shop in the middle of a few werewolf packs. When his pack's protective wards fail, Victor reluctantly seeks the new mage's help... and sparks fly.
This was sold as a slow burn, enemies to lovers, and I wouldn't say either of these are true. Victor does initially dislike Elijah because he doesn't trust magic, and in turn Elijah is wary of him, but I wouldn't call them enemies. They also have a bad case of instant lust, and while they do fight their interest for the other for a while, they do develop... something... super fast, so I wouldn't count it as a slow burn either. But it was cute! I liked them together! I liked the magic plot, and them investigating it together, and fighting the horny. They were SO HORNY, because in this universe, magic (with the right person) leads to arousal lmfao. That was kinda funny. Victor was doing his best, Elijah was cute and a lil chaotic and when they finally get together, they deserve it.
The side cast is great, starting with Lady the Cat who is so fricking funny, Elijah's mage friends (I love the four of them I think they have a great dynamics!). Victor's betas and his pack are cute as heck too! The story kinda ends in a cliffhanger, and I want to know more I can't believe i have to wait 6 months to get the next book. Excited to read about Liam (the worrier) and Kade (beta fuckboy), I already like them both hehe. Even though I love Aran and Miles more maybe? I want to read about them all!
