might be a bit too political and war focused for some people, but i absolutely loved it! how the story was told from both side's perspectives, the opposing lifestyles and cultures, wow. and the descriptions? the "action scenes"? incomparable. that's all i have to say. can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy!!

A bit cheesy, at times, and clumsy with the worldbuilding - but overall, a very engaging storyline. The characters are relatable and overall, pretty interesting. Could maybe have been a historical novel instead of a fantasy tale, but still so - thoroughly enjoyable.
It just wasn’t flowing for me well enough. DNF’d now but will most likely return to try again at some later point
