It's my fault for having high expectations because of synopsis, I mean academic rivals to lovers I just love that trope. So book is good for debut but romance is barely there and it's fast moving.

This book makes me so grateful that I was not a teenager during this era. It must suck to have the constant threat of surveillance.

I actually don't mind Eliza and Len. They seemed credible to me. But Winona really got on my nerves. I wanted to smack her most of the time.

Also, after reading this, I could go a full year without hearing the word "feminism."

I don't honestly feel like I have much today. The reviews for this seem to be quite split, but I don't think I have very many strong feelings. I think the way feminism, the way it was challenged in Eliza throughout the book and the relationships she had with the other female characters were great.

But I will admit, this wasn't my cup of tea.

I didn't really feel connected to any of the characters and to be honest, didn't seem much of the chemistry between Eliza and Len. Of course this book was going to be quite feminist focused, but considering it's also a romance I was expecting a bit more... well, romance. I understand attraction doesn't always make sense and can kind of just happen, but I didn't get why they liked eachother so much? I'm not sure, maybe it was just me, but overall I didn't mind this book. It just took me quite a while to get through.

Yeah this is right up my alley. Deeply relate to Eliza.

Oh that was so SWEET. Full of growth, fleshed-out secondary characters, compelling romance, and Macbeth as a narrative device. I would happily read more books by Quach in the future!
