This one was a lot more satisfying than the previous book in terms of mystery, and the social commentary is as present as ever, making it an excellent book to fly through. I thought the killer reveal was also done well, though the first book is still my favorite, but satisfying nonetheless.

DNF...I tried to binge-listen to this for a book club, but I wasn’t able to get into it. From the discussion it sounds like a novel that takes some time to get into, but I always struggle with books like that. Still, it had some great social commentary that I enjoyed, which makes sense since the author was an activist in her time!

What a fantastic read! I could not put it down. Thank you to all who recommended this book. I ordered the other three in the series.

This installment had one of the best mysteries so far. I am sad there is only one left.

3rd Blanche White mystery. My favorite so far. The plot is more complex, and is connected to Blanche's daily life, as the murders take place in and around her own community. Blanche is as strong and smart as ever, but she also makes mistakes; she's a real person.

Easy reading, entertaining, like a summer read that’s simply fun and makes you smile. Like the main character she is loveable -however especially for the date written it’s a very very liberal writer. Can appreciate her as a writer would read more of her work and this character.

I do enjoy this series and so timely and at times entertaining but this one was a little darker than others with a lot of the world's seedy undersides on display, so that is probably why I give it 4 start instead of 5.
