Reread in anticipation of the sequel! It's been so long I didn't remember anything about it. I forgot how short it was, and how filled with creepy middle-aged men ogling high school girls. Gross.

this book is very interesting, sharply and astutely observational about mid-life crises, the high school environment, and of course the election it satirizes. the plot, however, does get stale, and is bearable mostly because of how quick of a read it is. the characters are very interesting, but some fall flat or stagnate by pages 100-110. mostly just reading for the sequel which is hopefully better!
