How can you rank a book like this any lower? This is a must read for everyone. To get a glimpse of an experience of something so horrendous. To learn from the past and use this to build a better world. Don't close your eyes and stand up whenever you can.

Devastating. Totally devastating - to the depths of (in)humanity. The scene in the cattle cars is truly haunting.

Truly harrowing to read. I remember learning about the Holocaust in grade school but I was never able to fathom the cruelty and inhumane conditions these people endured.

I read this book in the 9th grade, and even as I am making my through college, it is still one of my favorite novels. This book was one of the first pieces of art that introduced me to the Holocaust, the one before was Schindler's List. It was such a wonderful introduction to the horrific events that went down during that time.

One of those once & done books, but for all the right reasons. It’s too much, too visceral. Yet, that’s the reality of the Holocaust. The “dentist” scene comes to mind every time I go see mine.

It was an excellent book. It portrayed how the experience of being in a concentration camp was. I cried at the end. It made me want to read the other books. Everyone should read it.
