You can't rate this kind of book, as it is a real experience from a man who just wants to stop the genocide to happen again. I am in awe of this man! Also his pure truth which how he describes his emotions is so moving, it shocks us to see that humans could do such awful things.

I think everyone should read this book. What a harrowing account of the Nazi death camps.

First read ~2011

A short narrative account of Wiesel’s multi-year experience during the Holocaust

I read this all the way back in 8th grade, so specifics have long since left me, but I remember being so deeply moved by this book. The writing pulled me in as much as any fiction (I'm not a big nonfic reader) and it was just a wonderful telling of something so terrible. I'd like to re-read it someday.
