I’m guessing because I know that Massery writes really good dark hockey romances like her other series. I was expecting to fall in love with this like I have with the other series.
I just found this to be loose in its connection to the plot. I was very let down with how the plot turned out.
The whole father aftermath just felt patched together to me, and also his father’s roll in this never was bring up again, and we’ve never seen his father afterwards, which why have him embedded in the plot in the first place
I felt like I was reading two different stories at some points, and then it was haphazardly sewn together in the end.
I do know that this is the first book in this series, so I’m going to give the second book a fair try and see if it gets better!
