4.5 Stars. Enjoyed this book so much. It was fun to realize I have watched one or two of her quilting tutorials without knowing who she was (Rock star in the quilting world, actually I would call her the Joanna Gaines of the quilting world). She is an amazing person with a wonderful outlook on life and it was good to read her guideposts to life, and fun to read how her business got started and grew, and how involved and important her family is. Now I want to go visit Hamilton, Missouri!
Very easy and uplifting read.

Listened to the audiobook read by the author. The book was fantastic! I’ve never heard of the Missouri Star Quilting Company and fell in love with Jenny, her family, and what they built. I love stories of entrepreneurs and this felt like such an authentic story of a family coming together around a passion. Highly recommend to anyone who loves business memoirs or just anyone who loves crafting (especially quilting) in general.

Nice to learn more about the history behind the woman. You see a lot of Jenny and Ron’s flaws, many driven by decision making based on religion and poor planning, but the ending in particular demonstrates her deep understanding of emotional connection and generosity. It’s heart-warming to learn about their family bond and what can become out of a loving and supportive marriage.

This book deserves five stars because of the resilience of Jenny Doan, her husband, and her family. Where there is a will, there is a way. I want to visit Hamilton, Missouri, and see the town they brought to life. She wrote this book from her heart, honest to the core. This book brought me great joy.

I am a huge Missouri Star Quilt Company fan. I never knew the backstory. Jenny has fought tooth and nail to have everything she has now, and she is so humble and giving. An excellent read.

It’s wonderful that her story turned out so well, kudos to her children. Very upbeat, much more praying than planning.
