I should have followed through with my plan to DNF this book. Like Twilight, this book was overrun with with repetitive adjectives and superlatives. The writing was immature for a YA whose protagonist is 17. All the while the sexual undercurrent pushes the bounds of YA and the language at the end crosses the line.  Not my cup of tea.

THIS WAS SO FUN!! Just what I've been missing in YA.
I had a great time, flew through it in 2 sittings.
Can't wait to continue the series!

I wish there was more of THIS out there right now, because it's totally my favorite.

i don't think i've ever witnessed a main character this stupid, it almost made it hilarious again. then i remembered that this whole book takes place over a span of like 5 days. miserable experience

A few things here. I almost DNF but I was curious about the plot so finished the book. But the writing was not great. Way too many superlatives.  “Fastest he ever seen,” “more than I could imagine,” “unimaginable,” “…than I’d ever seen him do.” More creative adjectives or metaphors would have elevated this book significantly.

The other big thing is this is about teenagers and a big theme of the book was lustful thoughts and descriptions between the 2 main characters. This really bothers me. No way I would let a teenager read this. Along those same lines, the “love” story was based entity on lust and some magical attraction…nothing else. I didn’t believe it.
