As with all poetry books, I am having a hard time reviewing this book. I believe that poetry is something that can be interpreted in a number of ways. I may interpret these poems differently than my roommate and my roommate may interpret these poems differently than my sister. Thus I don't feel as though I can ever give a proper review of collections of poetry because I'm not always going to relate to every poem in the book. Personally, I found these poems relatable and I throughly enjoyed reading this book. The message of self-love at the end of the book is something essential for everyone to realize. I would definitely read these poems again if I had the chance.
the people rating this extremely low clearly didn’t read at late hours while crying and listening to a sad playlist like get in the mood
I was okay… I think the best poem is “ That’s the problem: I am tree and you are a leaf easily swept away by the winds of someone better.” Other than that I feel it wasn’t as impactful
1.5/5 stars— There were a couple poems sprinkled here and there throughout the book that resonated with me, but outside of that, it was very generic prose and it felt more like I was reading a teenager’s diary than a published collection of poetry. I did like the time concept though. Respectfully, overall, it felt like she was trying really hard to channel Rupi Kaur, but it was a pretty big miss.

4⭐️ super fast read. It is very dark but the story she tells and the message she portrays is beautiful

i hated this. all the the poems were basic. also spending literally an ENTIRE BOOK on one single relationship, (instead of, you know, multiple important aspects of a person’s life) was super annoying. every poem felt the same. and to shoehorn an “oh btw you don’t need a man to be complete” poem in after 150 pages of talking about how much she wanted this one guy felt very disingenuous.
