Im conflicted, this book is good but it's a tough one to truly nail my thoughts. The best I can say is that A Season of Migration too the North is a novel that straddles the way in which those born in the periphery of European colonial empire are changed deeply in their experience with it and thus are forced to struggle in reacclimatimg to their homes origin as what was normal and natural and everyday is observed in a shifted light.
With a untrustworthy narrator as our guide, the novel seeks to connect the reader with a conception of the estranged path walked by those who have lived in both worlds reconciling how they've changed against the background of the place that should be home.
