Short, brutal, and aching in all the right places.
Told from Aiden’s point of view, Elixir is a gut-wrenching glimpse into what love demands and what it costs. Watching him fight for Alex while being forced to take actions that shatter his soul? Absolutely devastating. This novella may be short, but it hits like a truck full of heartbreak and devotion.
If you weren’t already head over heels for Aiden, this will do it.

Exceptional.
To narrate the story from Aiden's pov after deity? JLA must be an oracle herself. She definitely must've foreseen a future where her readers loved this installation, this novella.
I've never been one to love novellas. I liked them. I just didn't appreciate them much. Those are like snacks before or after lunch. You know, to keep you going until the next meal.
But this novella? The damn dessert after one hell of a spicy dinner.
In my prev reviews on the prev books of this series, had I just mentioned how MUCH I love Aiden?
I think not. Most probably because, he wasn't a man of too many words. He wasn't one to make a promise right away. He wouldn't give into his heart right away. He just wouldn't open his damned mouth and tell Alex that he loved her as soon as she confessed her feelings for her. He wouldn't do anything so easily. But do you know what else he wouldn't do? Give up on the girl he loves. There, show me a better example of "Action Speaks Louder Than Words". Oh Lord, this guy has to exist in real life. I swear, I just-

This is going to be a short review because I don't have a lot to say about this book. All I'm going to say is that it's funny that, even if you forget a person, you will eventually feel the same thing about them that you did before.
This novella is a 3.5 for the Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. It was really sweet to read from Aiden's POV and I love that he never gives up.
I recommend this series to readers of the Lux series.

The perfect addition to the Covenant Series! I didn’t come across this novella until after I finished the series but I’m so glad I found it. I really liked being able to get Aiden’s POV and get the details of the “elixir days”. It made me hurt for him. But I also loved the few sweet moments between Aiden and Alex that there was.
I will say that I wish that I read it as book 3.5 because it would have filled in some blanks I was definitely missing. But I’m still grateful to have read it now, nonetheless!
