A wonderful collection of Agatha Christie's Poirot short stories:

The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding
The Mystery of the Spanish Chest
The Under Dog
Four and Twenty Blackbirds
The Dream

Poirot is his usual eclectic self and solves the mysteries in an entertaining fashion. The stories are of a perfect length and ideal for this time of year.

"Motive and opportunity are not enough" said Poirot. "There must also be the criminal temperament!"

Once again I find it difficult to rate Christie's short story collection higher than two stars. They just don't work in that format, there's not enough time to properly flesh out a mystery so it comes off as clairvoyance on the part of the detective/mystery solver and the reader just sits back and watches it unfold but never gets to take part.

I enjoyed the story The Dream the most, because it had such a fascinating premise, that I believe foreshadows a later Poirot book 👀.

A collection of short stories, ideal for a cosy afternoon read. Given the length, they lack depth but are nonetheless enjoyable, cleverly crafted mysteries.

I've been going through all of the Hercule Poirot stories by Agatha Christie, but skipped a bit to get to this for the holiday season. This story was the most fun I have had over the Hercule Poirot stories. it is a cute and fun one that will make you glad, then make you gasp, and then make you laugh a little. There was one part of the story that started to really make me sad, but then I smirked. It was great.
