4 Stars. Wow, just wow. The way sights, smells, tastes, and feelings are described in this book is beautiful. The writing is so rich and detailed. I enjoyed how all of the characters had hidden depths to them, none were perfect but their faults worked with one another. The book did take a little while before it took off which made the beginning feel like a slog but it definitely picks up. I really appreciated the twists in the story, I thought I had a good idea as to where it would lead but the narrative wove away from this. There was a little bit of back and forth but overall the story ended in a way I didn’t expect.

It's going to take a lot to convince me that this book wasn't a fever dream I had while tipsy on some spiked seltzer.

I knew this book wouldn't click with me when the MC looked in the mirror and described herself, but I gave it the chance anyway.

A very interesting premise on witches and magic, the story was good but I found the majority of the characters slightly grating. I’ll read the next installment though.

Ugh, I'm so ashamed I did not finish a book - again!!

But unfortunately the storyline went from weirdly intriguing to just weird here. I read 280 pages, so more than half and it got so strange and it never really seemed as if there was a complete plot behind all the elements.

Also there were endless descriptions of flavors and scents, which got just overwhelming at some point.

Sorry...but I really tried!!

I loved this book. I didn't give it five stars because looking at it from an objective point of view there might be parts of the story that don't entirely make sense and feel a little like bumps in the story. However, the narration style is amazing. Lana Popovic has a magic way with words. You get swept away by her wondrous descriptions. The plot is good and the bond of sisterhood and womanhood is well exposed. The ending leaves you with just the right amount of anticipation for the next book without leaving you exasperated.

I have been dying to dive into this series for the LONGEST time. Two years is a long time right?

Wicked Like A Wildfire totally consumed me. I honestly couldn't put my phone down. Mostly because then that would pull my headphones out of my ears.. and it would just hurt. Luckily for me, not so much for my ears, I fell in love with absolutely everything about this book.

In it, you will meet Iris and some other characters. Iris, is and was my girl for forever. I loved her from the very beginning because of spunk and she's kind of my spirit animal. She could do no wrong in my eyes. Then there's her sister, Malina, who was the complete opposite of her. She was alright in my opinion.. but it was interesting to see how they got along with one another. Iris is still my forever favorite though.

Besides getting to know them, I liked the whole forbidden magic take in this book. Usually I read about forbidden loves (or something along those lines) so it was interesting to dive into. At least for me. The relationships between this family were unique in it's own way. I really enjoyed getting to know each character a bit better and definitely enjoyed the journey this book took me through.

I can't wait to dive into the next book.
