I wanted it to be more than what I already knew. Everyone is creative; we all push to DO more than we just BE and we need more BEING. How can we help ALL PEOPLE especially single moms and people who have less means than those this book is geared to find the time to work their creativity?

Very repetitive

This isn't much different from any other book about creativity but I always enjoy stories about people making space in their lives for their curiosity and creativity and this book has plenty of stories to keep things interesting.

Pretty slim in content - I found the citations section the most interesting/helpful and plan to dig into that further.

I really did like this book and a lot of the things Eve Rodsky touched on. It was encouraging and not at all patronizing. It’s just this book, like so many others in this genre, like to forget that not everyone has the perfect financial situation to achieve their goals. I don’t think most American women can relate to a lot of Rodsky’s advice.

I am open to this message of “creative time is not optional” and as a mom our time is always limited in some way. I like her thoughts about communication with your partner about roles and responsibilities and how to balance those more. I am just stuck with … this author has a nanny….. of course she can be creative.

If you thought fair play was good... buckle up! Fair play helps you reclaim your time, and unicorn space enables you to find the missing pieces you will want to fill it with. She breaks down the How, What & Why of finding purposeful activities that light you up from within. There are so many great tidbits here... I can't pick just one! I really liked chapters 10 - 12... Face Your Fears, Enlist Your Partner, and Continue the Pursuit, but every chapter seemed to have an "AHA!" moment. So good.

Read about halfway, got what I needed from it and needed to return to library. Will get again if I need a push
