This was a solid alien romance that kept me entertained while I was sick. I loved the plot but I didn't love the romance which is why I have mixed feelings about this book.

The plot for me was the best part of the book because I was really intrigued by it. Carrie finds herself plopped in the middle of a futuristic world where cyborgs and humans are at war. And she is a human stuck with a cyborg general. The author did a good job giving us information about the world in a way that seemed fairly natural. The reader learns about the world through the eyes of Carrie, who's just as confused as we are.

I also liked that the cyborgs considered what would happen to Carrie's dog Penny. It was a really cute detail.

That being said, the actual relationship between DVS and Carrie felt really quick given the context of the book. I know they're supposed to be mates, but given the fact that Carrie was kidnapped and dropped into this new world without her consent and that cyborgs and humans are fighting a war against each other, I thought there'd be a least a little more conflict between them or a longer 'getting-to-know-each-other' phase.

This book is steamy, there's some open-door scenes but they aren't particularly long or explicit in my opinion. From what I can tell, the larger war will continue into other books in the series but the story between DVS and Carrie ends in this book.

This Celestial Mates doesn't quite reach the stars. Just Earth about 500 years in the future. Carrie seems to have a nice if mediocre life, when she signs up for online dating she never dreamed she would be picked up and slung into the future. DVS84 is your typical soldier, or cyborg soldier dedicated, determined, dependable and definitely not looking for a mate.

I love that future is not sugar coated. It's hard and Carrie has to adjust mentality and physically. Davis is not an overbearing Neanderthal, he's firm but still affected by Carrie. The writing brings you into their world with the ravaged planet, underground bunker, and wary cyborgs. Take a trip into the future, this book is worth the journey.

This was rough - it was like reading the outline of a book. Fortunately, at just over 100 pages, it only took a little more than an hour. So bad it was almost good.

5 Mated to the Cyborg General Stars

I didn’t know what I was getting into other than something to do with Cyborg’s and I have been reading quite a few books lately with Cyborg’s so I was intrigued.

Carrie and her dog Penny get plucked from her cozy home to four hundred years in the future where the humans are at war with the cyborgs.

Only she was plucked by an alien who is also a matchmaker and puts Carrie with DVS84 a cyborg. And tells her she is a vital part in stopping the war.
Carrie is the kind of person who goes with the flow and I loved that she is just herself and others flocked to her.

I hope there are more books because I really enjoyed this book, and being that it was almost 4 and half hours I thought it would be choppy or I wouldn’t understand something but that could be farther from the truth. The book had all the detail to allow you to follow along and still have a really great story,

I loved the narration and I know some said they didn’t like it but I found her tone to match the cadence of the book.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

This book had so much potential, is sad that I didn't like. The idea was good - a dating agency getting fated mates together across the universe and years - but the plot was so convoluted and fast paced that it didn't worked. I usually don't mind fast plot and insta-love in alien romances, except the way things happened here was weird, like the story was missing parts. Besides, I think Carrie and Raven had more conversations than Carrie and her mate (Davis??? I already forgot *sigh*).
One last thing - the smut was very lacking.

Carrie is kidnapped from her home and dropped off in the future. She is told that she is going to meet her mate. This was a cute story that could be considered standalone but is part of a series. The future involved a barren land going through war. Carrie tried to help her cyborg mate end the war. This was a pretty short read but was enjoyable.

I enjoyed the story line of this novel. I read this for a bookclub and didn’t think I’d enjoy something about aliens but it was quite good! I think I would have preferred this novel without the smut.
