I watched the movies first, so I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. Though I must say I enjoyed it even more (even though the movie is one of my all-time favourites)! The banter between Howl and Sophie (and other characters) was so addictive and fun and catching. I wished for a BIT more romance between Howl and Sophie, but it's fine, since I got that in a movie version.

Absolutely loved the book. I've been in a big reading slump, couldn't finish any book for the past few months. But this book brought me back into reading.
Plot twists in the last chapters of the book made me gasped. I haven't watched the movie yet maybe that's why.
Highly recommend this book! I'm already planning rereading the book

As a fan of the Miyazaki film I have wanted to read this for a while. I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was not as different as I was lead to believe and if you enjoy the film I highly recommend you read this book!

I loved this book! I loved the characters, plot, and the writing style.

I did see the movie a few years ago, so that influenced what I expected from the book and my mental images. That was a bit distracting, but not too much. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and rewatching the movie.
