I didn't like this book to begin with, but around 25% in, I started feeling like part of the friend group. Izzy is a wrll developed but realistic character, and I couldn't help but cheer her on

Izzy's developing her Instagram following. Maybe she lies a little every now and then. But everyone does it, don't they? Filters, hashtags - it's no big deal. Until it is...

I'll be honest, I don't use Instagram myself, but I know a bit about influencers. I'm sure it's a gross generalisation, but I have no difficulty believing the view of this book, that influencers are almost all lying to one degree or another. While I don't believe it's anything like as involved as Izzy and Luke, I easily believe that people spend time getting the 'right' shot, the 'perfect' filter.

I enjoyed the story very much. I like that we weren't sure about Luke until quite late; no one is perfectly good or perfectly bad and it's nice to see that reflected here. Aidan, on the other hand, is too good to be real. I did love the easy, banter-filled relationship that developed between him and Izzy, though. Love me some banter!

This book had some genuine, real things to say and I'm glad I got a chance to read it.

We Just Clicked was my first read from Anna Bell and I adored it.

Izzy and Luke are work colleagues who want more from life. They want a stratospheric rise to fame on Instagram and believe the way to get there is to pretend to be in a relationship. But what happens when Izzy meets Aidan and develops something worth more than likes on a post?

This is a heart warming emotional rollercoaster that had me gripped from start to finish!

read this in 2 days as i couldn't put it down
it was cheesy and easy to read in all the best ways, a really comforting rom-com

i'd recommend for a laid back read, perfect for relaxing me during exam season and getting my mind off anything too negative

Izzy has dreams of becoming an influencer, something she confides in her brother as he selects an engagement ring for his fiancé. He tells her that she should follow her dream. However, that is the last conversation that they have. Ben sadly passes away in his sleep from an undiagnosed heart condition. Upon hearing the news Izzy rushes home but is overcome with emotion. Luckily a fellow commuter takes her under his wing and ensures that sge gets home safely.

Two years have passed since her brothers death and whilst her instagram following is slowly growing she's still working a day job in insurance to pay the bills. A chance Interaction with a colleague leads to a fake romance - because you can't believe everything you see on Instagram. The plan being to date for a while and then break up once they had increased their followings and had brand sign ups.

Bumping into the helpful commuter, Aidan, puts Izzy into a spin. Not only is she grateful for him helping her but she finds herself falling in love despite being very much happy to be single. Is it possible to have a fake life on social media and a different real life?

Izzy personality was not enjoyable
Aidan started good and then turned into a female type in speech and actions
Luke was treated poorly early on and it was all so he could be a villain later
Having one guy betray you that you didn’t love doesn’t change you like this
Grieving over a brother so over the top in all your life aspects is not believable so as you can’t even say Hi to people who knew you
Becca was made to seem mean for saying what anyone would say

I really enjoyed this book. It was super cute and a pretty light-hearted read. There was definitely an intense point in the book (the climax, experts might say) where I feel like there was potential for a lot of good writing and resolving of the climax (I teared up but not full out crying). It was like each dramatic issue got solved in one page with the characters saying maybe four sentences each to each other. It didn't quite feel realistic enough. But I was so invested in the characters that the way issues were resolved left me dissappointed. I would have gladly read 100+ more pages if it meant we could have gotten better writing and more dialogue, for it to feel more real.

It was cliche, the love story part but the instagram part was spot on. Literally how everyone lives these days is a lie and what they show is different to how they actually live. Enjoyable read and very heartwarming.
