I really enjoyed this! When I started, I was worried that it might end up being a 3 ⭐ read since I wasn't quite feeling it but pretty soon I really got into it.

I liked the discussions about the reaction to Chris and Shireen on the show - I think it's important to talk about things like that (especially when they're usually swept under the rug - will personally never forget the season of Bake Off when they got rid of nearly all the contestants of colour by week 4 🙃)

and when Niamh was like "they're calling me ginger" on response to Shireen receiving ACTUAL RACISM???? I knew something was up with that girl, you cannot hide from me

If you are a lover of baking competition shows or just yummy desserts this book is for you!

I had so much fun reading The Dos and Donuts of Love. The competition was done so well I felt like I was actually watching the show.

I thought the author did very well writing Shireen's panic attacks. And I loved that
Chris helped her through them despite them not being on the beat of terms.

I was so disappointed when
Niamh was the one who ruined Shireen's dish. But also so happy it wasn't  Chris!

My heart soared when
Chris and Shireen's parents became friends after feuding for so long. And combined forces to open their own shop!

Another thing I really loved were the punny chapter headers! I loved that they were all dessert themed and a clue of what was to come. I wish authors included them more!

This was absolutely incredible and now I want donuts.

Quick little fun read! Felt a little anticlimactic in the end but I enjoyed reading it even when I was screaming at some of the decisions being made.

Slowly making my way though Adiba Jaidigar's roster and I am really enjoying it! The representation is very appreciated, especially in this one.

This is probably the cutest thing I've ever read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If "cozy romance" were a genre, this would be a hallmark of it. We follow a 16 year-old girl dealing with her first real breakup while competing on The Junior Irish Baking Show... against her ex girlfriend.

I loved how the protagonist felt that these were some of the highest-stakes moments of her LIFE and yet for me the reader this was a really low-stakes story. I mean
she loses the competition and yet I'm still gushing that this one of my favorite stories.

Highly recommend the audiobook version if you have the chance. The narrator does an excellent job (to my American ears) with the various accents characters have, making the setting come that much more to life.
