Quicksilver is a solid entry into the fantasy romance genre. It doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel, but it delivers what it promises: magic, intrigue, and a predictable-but-enjoyable romance arc.
The fantasy elements were a highlight for me, especially the unique concept of Quicksilver itself, and the fact that the main female character is an alchemist. Those details gave the story a nice edge and helped it stand out a little, even if the broader plot beats felt familiar.
As for the romance? I saw the whole thing between her and Kingfisher coming from a mile away. It didn’t surprise me, but honestly, that’s par for the course in this genre. It followed the usual blueprint we’ve seen again and again in fantasy/romance, and while that’s not a bad thing, it just means the book didn’t leave a lasting impression.
Overall, it’s a decent read. Not groundbreaking, not unforgettable, but enjoyable enough for a weekend escape.

Puoli tähteä pois maailmanrakennuksesta ja ehkä vähän myös siitä, että seksikohtaukset ei sitten lopulta olleetkaan aivan niin hot kuin olisin toivonut. Erinomaisen viihdyttävää romantasiaa ja oikein kiva suomennos eniveis! 🍆🍆🍆

Probably my favorite book of all time. The world was so intriguing and the storyline kept my interest the entire time. Also Saeris and Kingfisher? OBSESSED. Carrion is also 100% a fav.
This was just…SO MANY THINGS. I laughed, I cried, I screamed, and most importantly I absolutely LOVED it. I originally bought this last year and tried to read it and was having a hard time getting into it so I bought the audiobook and that had me hooked. I listened to about half the book and then read the rest and I honestly don’t know why I had trouble reading it initially. This is so well written and the characters are SO multifaceted. Saeris honestly kind of infuriated me for like the first half of this book just because of the way she acted and how aggressive she always was with Kingfisher, not that he didn’t antagonize her, but it just seemed a little over the top. She was much more likable in the second half of the book. The spicy scenes in this were just so so good and hot and dirty. Carrion Swift is hilarious throughout the entire book. I loved Lorreth and Renfis so much, they were just so loyal and stalwart and I hope nothing bad happens to them in the future. The underlying conflict in this is so crazy and when everything pops off at the end I was like WHAAAAAAT. And then how the conflict is resolved was absolutely bananas. This was truly an incredible read and I’m so glad I finally got around to it.
