So it turns out that when you scream into the void nothing listens but if you were to step into it that's where things get interesting. People have been curious about black holes for forever and the world recently saw its curiosity reawakened a few years ago with the first picture of a black hole. Told in a way that makes you feel that you are floating (falling?) through the void of nothingness this is such an informative and calming read. So boldly go and allons-y!

Thank you to NetGalley and Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group for this advanced copy which I received in return for an honest review.

I like the conversational way Levin explained black holes but black holes are so complicated in the attempt to simplify everything, you can to just take her word for it. It's a lot of information in a small package and often I had to reread what was said in order to hold it in my mind.

for as tiny as this book is, the information contained makes it quite dense, like a black hole. and just like a black hole, it draws you in and that information just so happens to leak out!
..it took me three months of picking this up and putting it down to get through.
but i didn't hate it~

Informative and often poetic. Not perhaps the absolute most well-explained, but that may just be because quantum mechanics is crazy! In a good way. This was a quick read and expanded my understanding of space and physics.
