what was the point of two POVS if Charlie’s was going to last 2-3 pages everytime it was his turn, if we had more of his POV, maybe it would’ve been easier to understand his character

Soft dnf,
I loved Better Than The Movies years ago when it came out but I feel like I'm aging out of YA and it was really hard for me to find anything to connect to with these characters. Am I also kind of tired of this trope we constantly see of a high strung, anal-retentive girl who meets an easy breezy hot guy that makes fun of her and gets her to loosen up? Maybe that won't be the story. It just feels like it.
