This was a good read! It wasn’t a cheesy rom com that always ended the way you wanted it was very honest and funny but once again I’m lonely after reading this thanks!

I love this book - the slow burn between Oliver and Luc was so sweet and wholesome and I’m obsessed with the way they opened up and caught for each other. Their personal life flows into the story and their relationship flawlessly, and the way they had each other‘s back the whole time made my heart flutter. Such a fun easy read that pulley all my heart strings.

3.5* - comparable to rwrb and the charm offensive for its mildly famous characters but I honestly liked the other two books a lot better. This one was quite messy and it was hard for me to understand the characters dynamic

Rápido de leer y entretenido. Pero no quita que Lucien hiciera cosas sin sentido y que Oliver haya sido un capullo gilipollas.

"You’re more than a bonus, Lucien. You’re integral."

3.5 stars. I was thinking this would be along the lines of [book:Red White and Royal Blue] but it was actually quite different...in a good way!

"We’ve been fake dating for three days and we’ve already fake broken up once."

"Yes, but we fake resolved our difficulties and fake got back together, and I’m hoping it’s made us fake stronger."

Aside from the witty banter between the two, Luc is an absolute wreck whereas Oliver seems to be all that's successful in the world. At the beginning I was honestly scratching my head at why Oliver would be interested in Luc because Luc was that bad.

But damn if they weren't made for each other.

"You are a terrible fake boyfriend."

"I’m building fake anticipation."

"You’d better be fake worth it."

"I am."

The thing I liked best about this book was that it truly shows you an example of a healthy relationship when you've been stuck in unhealthy habits for too long...and it's messy, and vulnerable, and has boundaries.

Also, by the end, I wanted to hug and smooch both Luc and Oliver and shower them in so much love it wasn't even funny.

"If we let happy things make us unhappy when they stopped, there would be no point having happy things."

Similar to how I felt about many of Alexis Hall’s other books—he writes about the emotional / mental journey of a character over time, which means the first half of the book is really annoying first person narrative. I haven’t decided yet if the payoff of the narrative becoming less annoying is worth it. It’s certainly unlike anything else I’ve read, though.

And, to be fair, I did laugh out loud several times reading this, so it’s not that I didn’t enjoy I at all.
