★★★★ // Trese is such a cool heroine. I like that she’s kinda emotionally detached. My favourite chapter / case was the one with the Tikbalang. The race was really cool. One thing I like about this as well is the pure, unadultered Filipino brand of humor. I learn a lot about myths, too!
I am excited to read the other volumes, but unfortunately I only have until Volume 3 + Bloodlines. Might have to wait until next year for Vols 4-6.
Side note: I watched the animated adaptation on Netflix and really enjoyed it. I hope it gets a second season because we definitely need more of Trese and the gang.

Growing up Filipino, I was constantly told ghost stories of our home province and how spirits haunted and bothered my ancestors. This comic book is phenomenal. I am tempted to buy copies for my entire family as it encompasses all the ghost stories with that of modern times. It was amazing to see the stories come alive on paper. I am excited to see the series on Netflix.

I loved the art work. The story was very interesting, just was not vibing all 4 different tales , and some I wanted to know more about the nonhuman creatures or how the police would cover up the fact the people had been killed by monsters etc .

I liked the episodal takes on different Filipino folklore and the art suited the story but the characters are flat and the overall story is lacking. I'm interested to see the anime, that format might suit the story better.
